Letter from the Editors: The Montana Issue

We’ve been looking forward to this issue all year.

One of our favorite parts about owning shops on Main Street is that we get to spend our time chatting with a mix of both Montana locals and visitors — including folks who have never seen our state before. They ask us where to go, what to eat, how we came to be and live here. And we never get tired of sharing those stories, yarns, and lore.

It’s no secret that we love Montana. We love it for its big sky (of course) and its majestic outdoor beauty. We love it for its history, rich in cowboy boots, cattle ranches, and live music. But most of all, we love it for the people who gather and commune here — local chefs, makers, and creatives. Together, we fill this state with distinctly Western humor, straight talk, and love for our neighbors.

We could go on and on, but we’ll leave it at this: this issue is a love song.  A love song to Montana, a state that’s constantly evolving yet never loses its roots.

Here’s to many more years of Meridian’s doors opening each day to welcome the friendly faces that come here for the land and activities — and to discover something new about themselves.
